Mathematics – Part I – The questions are mainly based on the B.Sc course, which includes Algebra, Analysis, Geometry/Topology, Elementary properties. Part II – This part varies according to the program and centers.

TIFR GS Exam PatternPhysics – Classical Mechanics; Mathematics relevant to Physics; Electricity and Magnetism; Quantum Mechanics; Heat, Thermodynamics and Statistical Physics; General Physics; Modern Physics; Electronics and Experimental Physics.

Biology – There is no specified syllabus and the test will be extremely basic and cover topics in General, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.

Chemistry – physical, organic, inorganic, analytical, electro and quantum chemistry, biophysics, thermodynamics, spectroscopy (NMR, fluorescence, IR, UV, and X-ray), logic and statistics and mathematical methods.

Computer  Science – Discrete Mathematics, Formal Languages, Automata Theory and Computability, Data Structures and Algorithms, Fundamentals of Programming Languages and Compilers, Operating Systems and Concurrency, Switching Theory and Digital Circuits, Theory of Databases

TIFR GS / JGEEBILS 2020 Exam Pattern

GS-2020 is an online computer-based examination. It has Multiple-choice type questions for all the subjects. Candidates are awarded marks for the correct answer and awarded negative marks for wrong answers. If a question is not attempting then 0 marks will be awarded for that question.
