About Joint Admission Test (JAM)

Joint Admission Test for M. Sc (JAM) is a national level entrance exam for the postgraduate courses in the disciplines of science. JAM is being conducted from the year of 2004 to provide the admission for M. Sc. (Two years), joint M. Sc – Ph. D., M. Sc – Ph. D Dual Degree. JAM exam shall organize every year in the month of February in the online mode only and this year the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur will conduct the JAM 2020 exam. In 2019 onwards IIT Bhubaneshwar, IIT Mandi, IIT Tirupati, IIT Palakad will be admitting the students to the PG courses through the JAM 2020 exam.

Eligibility Criteria for JAM 2020

Candidates who wish to apply for the admission into IITs should have to fulfill the below mentioned eligibility requirements.

  • All the candidates should have completed a Bachelor’s degree with the minimum aggregate marks of 55%.
  • In the qualifying degree, the aggregate marks of 55% or 5.5 out of 10 (CGPA) for the candidates in the category of General / OBC (NCL) and 50% or 5.0 out of 10 for the SC / ST and PwD category candidates.
  • The proof of having passed the qualifying degree by the admitting institute with the Minimum Educational Qualification (MEQ) should be submitted.
  • There is no age limit to appear in the JAM exam and also candidates from any nation can participate in the JAM entrance exam.

Note: Candidates have the responsibility to prove that he/she satisfies the Minimum Educational Qualifications (MEQ) and Eligibility Criteria for the admission process.

How to fill the JAM 2020 Exam Application Form?
Step 1: Application Procedure for JAM 2020

Students should need to enroll themselves for the JAM 2020 exam in the way of register at JAM Online Application Processing System (JOASP) by filling and submitting details like name, valid email id, valid mobile number, and password. Once the registration is done, candidates need to login their account using enrolment ID and password generated by the JOASP.

  1. Students should log in their valid credentials at the JAM 2020 official website to fill the JAM examination application form.
  2. Candidates shall provide the basic educational details, he/she photograph, signature are submitted at the time of form filling.

Previously, there are seven subjects are included for the JAM entrance exam. Now, a major change i.e., JAM 2020 exam will be conducted for the M.
