About Alagappa University
Alagappa University is on Karaikudi in Sivaganga District in Tamil Nadu, India. This seat of higher education has emerged from the galaxy of institutions founded by Padma Bhusan Dr.RM.Alagappa Chettiar. Alagappa University Reaccredited with ‘A’ Grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council. Once of the top universities to get this “A” grade during the 1990s itself Alagappa University is recognized by the UGC, Government of India. It was converted from a unitary type to an affiliating type by the Tamil Nadu Universities with a view to widening the horizon of its academic activities by bringing into its jurisdiction the Arts and Science colleges in the districts of Ramanathapuram and Sivaganga. The Constituent Colleges are Alagappa University College of Education, Alagappa University College of Physical Education, Alagappa University College of Arts & Science, Paramakudi.
